Canon 5D MKII Clips on Vegas

Have been using my Canon 5DmkII's since November last year... been using Vegas also but it will crash on the timeline after 7-10 mins is loaded on the line... small shows are fine and can be rendered in mov. or m-peg4 burt any larger files forget it... I've spent weeks converting files, encoding them but it dos'nt work.

I hope Sony will do somthing about this!!! as the 5DmkII system is great... I had to use a Mac and Final Cut Pro... its the only way I could get the job done... I'd be interested to here if anybody else has been having the same challenges

I just bought the 5DM2. I plan on using NeoScene to transcode the Canon footage into a user-friendly AVI file that plays nice with Vegas. I do the same thing with my Panasonic HMC150 footage.

Yep, and like you posted to see if there was any assistance, but none I am afraid, you could convert the files so Vegas handles them better

There's no reason to struggle with the original 5D2 files on the timeline-

Transfer to uncompressed AVI, Cineform or MXF and see what you think!

I work with 5D2 footage almost every day here but I only use the H264 *.MOV files for recording in the camera.

Then I transfer it to something that is safe, good and comfortable to work with. The MOV works fine for recording not for editing.
