Canon Elura compatible with VF2?

I am thinking of getting a Canon Elura. It claims to have a 1394-based DV i/o 4-pin port. Has anyone had much luck with these cameras. I have no idea what firewire card I have :-

I'm using the Canon OpturaPI with no problems. I'm using the card and cable that I got through the free offer from Canon.

Very few if any non Mac PC's come with a build-in fire wire card. You can pick up one from dozens of companies. Simple PCI to 1394 interface. Just pop in any free slot. Basic cards now go for just $40 or so. I also use mine as an interface between my portable hard drive and ultra 100 IDE hard drive. Files can be transferred up to 400MB a minute. Maybe that's why they call it firewire, it really smokes. :-)
