Canon HF11 30p detected as 60i

Hi, I captured video as HD 1080 30p using my Canon HF11.

When I import the video, and then set the project properties to match the video files, it is detected as 60i.

I want to render to 720p MP4 (for Vimeo) and 1080p WMV (for archive) (I use WMV since MP4 crashes and I believe this is a known bug).

Should I manually correct the format to 30p, or leave it as detected at 60i?

Thanks
P.

This is normal. The 30p stream is wrapped in a 60i stream, that's how Canon found that it's the best way to torture us (we HV20 users have a beef with their PF24 mode, which is not true 24p either and requires pulldown removal before editing to become progressive). Thankfully, extracting the 30p stream out of the 60i one, it's easier in the PF30 case. The info you need is here: http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/11/09/exporting-with-vegas-for-vimeo-hd/

Ok, thank you, so I will always change the autodetect 60i settings to 30p.

Yes, first you ask it to match it, then you change to progressive, and none de-interlacing.
