Canon XL2 and ZR80

Hi all

i have a friend that is going to purshase a Canon XL2 and also have a Canon XR80 he asked me to check if the video captured in the XL2 can be played back and captured to Vegas via the XR80, i told him i would check but i havent found anything about this. So i ask here to see if someone has done this or have info on about this matter. He asked me this because he already owns a Canon XL1 and use the ZR80 to capture the video to vegas and it works very good, nothing lost with this precedure. TIA for any response.

Mini DV is Mini DV - Once it's on the Tape it's just 1's and 0's.

The only thing you want to watch for is that if he's used different Mini DV tapes from different manufacturers - they use different lubricants and mixing them can cause issues.

So if he's used a lot of different tapes in his ZR80 - then he needs to not put the tapes back in his XL2 once he's put it in his ZR80. Unless he's not going to be concerned about that.
