Canopus AceDVio or ADVC-1394 A/D

Sorry for the redundant question, I know there have been many regarding all of the analog capture cards, but my eyes have grown blurry searching and sorting through all of the posts. So I've narrowed down my search to these two. I originally was going to get a camcorder with pass-thru, but decided I wanted something permanent with the PC that would also give me preview on my HDTV. I had initially narrowed it down between these two and the ADVC-110, but with the PC card I don't have yet another external device stacked up on my desktop when considering that the 110 doesn't really offer many advantages over the pci cards.

So these two seem pretty comparable, with the AceDVio carrying a little heftier price tag. Recommendations and/or pros and cons of one over the other?

Thanks very much.

I like the ADVC 1394 card. Have a few of them, they are great to work with. You know it only passes SD, right? You can capture HDV thru the firewire port, but the analog out is only SD. Same with the AceDVio.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I new it was only SD so not sure why I specified HDTV. So for $80 extra, there really isn't much of an advantage to getting the AceDVio? Does the 1394 also gives you video out to monitor while editing? If so, then I'm not really seeing much difference between the two.

Yes, the 1394 can give you preview out, but the AceVideo does have realtime MPEG encoding with the bundled Canopus software, I believe.
