Hi All:
Thanks for all the info and suggestions in regard to my earlier post about analog capture cards and converters. It appears eveyone who is using the Canopus ADVC100 with V4.0 is pretty happy with it, so I'm going to do some more research on this product. Any suggestions as what mfg. brand of FireWire card I should buy that works well this device. I think I have read before that Firewire is Firewire, but I just thought I would ask all of you before I run out and buy one.
Thanks Again
Eric and Lori

You should just buy the ACEDVio card from Canopus, it has a firewire port plus the analog inputs and outputs, it's an all in one unlike the ADVC-100. Also works great with Vegas.

The ACEDVio card looks fine and the analog input adjustability might be handy.

The one thing to note is that you can't throw this in a bag and use it on the road, nor can you use it with a laptop. That's the advantage of the ADVC100.

If you want more you might look for a box with component IO as well as SDI to 1394 with deck control conversions. This is much more expensive but if you need it you need it.

I have had good success with my motherboard's onboard firewire as well at the Adaptec firewire add-in pci card avilable at Circuit City.
