...or do we?

Hello all. My Sonic Foundry buddy moved away and was hired to set up a small a/v studio for his new employer. The plan was to flood it with Sonic Foundry products, 'cause that's what we both were trained on way back when. Now it turns out the "higher-ups" don't want Vegas Video 3 and Sound Forge 5.0 for the studio, saying it's too "problematic" and not for "pro" use. They're gonna force Canopus on my old pal for the video stuff, I'm told. I can't really come to his defense, 'cause Sonic Foundry is all I know at this point, but I was wondering how ya'll feel Canopus compares to Vegas Video 3. It would be a shame to lose a devout Sonic Foundry user. But if it's better....

Unfortunately, as with so many things in the computer world, no one product has achieved perfection yet.

We have a variety of products here, and I don't see the DVStorm being retired any time soon, even though I've come to enjoy using VV3 for everyday video work.

He owns a copy? He can still use it. But if he needs to say, color correct a piece, he'd be a fool to render overnight in VV3 when the Storm will do it in real time.
