cant capture HDV with vegas 6.0c

ok the software does not recognize my $5k camera,{fx1} where is avc\subunit, how can i make vegas to recognise my camera in hdv, i have unchecked external control, i have checked the iee1394 mpeg2 ts mode so wat the hell am i doing wrong, y did i buy vegas, i should have stuck to adobe premiere pro,i need help.........

thanks mike, i later found out i need an activation code besides the serial no,i put the code and voila it foun d my camera in HDV. now while im capturing my monitor is running in breakmode or i cannot see the preview in both my monitors in vegas but i know it is capturing.
