cant get it to reconize avis

Scurry wrote on 11/5/2004, 5:19 PM
I have the demo of movie studio 4.0 and was really liking it more and more and then all of a sudden it will not reconize avis. Maybe I accidentally deleted something? It originally was working, I tried reinstally and it didnt help. When I drag the clip inot the tiome line only audio shows up.

Thanks for and help,
-Sean

What encoder was used to render the clip? If it is Divx or MJPEG you will need to install the appropriate codec on your computer.

They just came straight of my cam, I am using a still camera to make the movies for now. They are 320x240 resolution, I didnt compress them or anything. No other avis work either.

and if it matters they work fine in ulead and window movie maker.

If they're 'movies' from a still cam they're very likely mpeg-4, you'll perhaps need to uncheck the box that says 'Ignore 3rd party codecs' in perferences.

This is actually the Sony Vegas forum, you might get better information from the
MovieStudio forum.

"I have the demo of movie studio 4.0" - er .. how long does the Demo work for? G

You have already received the likely correct answer. Your camera's AVI files are using a codec that your computer no-longer has (maybe some other demo software that had it has now expired).
