Derm wrote on 10/27/2009, 7:08 PM
I'm trying to install 9c 32 bit on my XP SP3 system and keep getting the error the installation requires;
Microsoft C++2005 redistributable
Microsoft C++2008 SP1 redistributable

Had no trouble installing previous versions. I have downloaded and run the above mentioned files but am still getting the same error.Have alo re downloaded the installation file.
Any ideas?

I got the same message and at first thought I'd have to connect to the net so that the files could be downloaded.
I decided to be very patient and sure enough, the files installed all by themselves (are they part of the installer??) without the need to be connected.

When I click "Install", I then get another error message "Requirements not met, press OK to exit the install"

I installed 9c on 28 October 2009 and have to admit that it did take quite a while for the two components you mention to actually instal.

At on point I thought the installation had stalled completely. As the first responder said be patient. I suggest trying the install again and just wait, only taking any keyboard/mouse-click action when told to do so.

Other than that, 9c seems to be working okay.

Please let us all know the outcome.

i installed to win7 32. installation completed, but gave error message that install had failed "run installer again." tried to run again, said already installed. 9c works fine for me, problem w/install script.

Hi there,

I had exactly the same problem and this fixed it.

Download and install the C++ 2005 and 2008 service packs from:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/B/B/6BB661D6-A8AE-4819-B79F-236472F6070C/vcredist_x86.exe

and

http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/7/7/977B481A-7BA6-4E30-AC40-ED51EB2028F2/vcredist_x86.exe

(They both have the same filename so save them in different locations.)

After that Vegas 9.0c should install OK.

Let me know how it goes.

When I installed 9.0C those service packs were part of the install and installed prior to installing 9.0c.

I had the same error on Win 7 32-bit. V 9.0c seems to fine though.

Hi MacVista,
That did it ,thanks. I thought I had already installed those two but apparently not. On a Vista laptop I got the same message but after a few seconds the install continued.
