I prefer to have captions accompany the picture in a slideshow.
As I have not found the way, currently I create a movie in Picasa then import that media to Vegas Movie Studio.
Is there an easy way to do it all in Vegas Movie Studio given that there usually are many stills?
You can also add a little more flair by placing an animated background to the text and place it the lower portion of the screen (called the lower 3rd).
Here's some samples of captions w/ backgrounds of a recent trip to Japan, October, last year.
Thanks for the advice and examples. It's obviously time consuming and I was probably trying to shortcut the process of individual captions, especially given that I have generally done that already in Picasa on the fly.
Much appreciated.
Usually what I do involves another tool in the toolbox as you have discovered. I use Photodex proshow Producer to create a basic slideshow with captions and other special effects then export as an uncompressed avi file and bring that into Vegas to assemble pieces, add features that vegas supports and build the DVD from there. I really like Vegas, but there are things that other tools do much easier but together, they make a great toolbox.
Hi bought video camera and Vegas Pro last month. Very impressed with your Japan video! and to think you did all that on Vegas Pro.
Theres a chance for me yet!!
