It looks and works exactly the same to me (apart from the new button styles)
I haven't read anything new about it either.

Didn't see anything in the white paper that discussed the capture module.

It doesn't seem to thow a non fatal error with the serial number the Vegas 4 did. Also my audio selections are grayed out in Vegas 5.0a just as in Vegas 4.0d. Anybody know how to turn them on to select one thing or another.

Are you wanting to capture the second DV audio channel? That was one of the things I was looking for. SCLive does this, of course.

As far as I can tell there's nothing new exposed to users. Capture in V4 was pretty much like this too with the exception that it could put things into bins.

It works. You can choose another app in prefs. I think they're hoping that third parties will do something better-like scenalyzer

The help file "What's New" for Capture 5.0 says "better integration with Media Bins," but provides no detail.

I'm told that you can get the Vid Cap media bins into your Project in Vegas now. That might be what they mean. I've been having trouble getting it to work though.

Vegas Capture is basic... but it still has functionality missing from Scenalyzer. Although I'm curious as to why they haven't added support for the extra two channels of audio. Seems like that would be useful.
