capture audio volume

Is it possible to control the audio volume while your are capturing your footage? This would eliminate having to constatntly depend on inserting volume envelopes.

If you're capturing DV through firewire, then no.

If you're capturing analog, you could always stick a mixer or some other sort of volume control on the audio line and control it that way.
