Capture Card compatibility

I'd like to use a capture card that is compatible with Vegas Video 4.0 that captures from Analog VHS and convert to MPEG 2 real time (I mean the conversion is done while capture) I use now ATI that captures first to AVI then it takes hours to render to MPEG 2. IS there such card that can be inserted in PCI. It does not matter the price.
Thank you

Your ATI card should be capable of this already. The capture software that came with the card allows capturing directly to MPEG in real time. The quality stinks though, but then that's typical of any hardware system that encodes to MPEG in real-time and costs less than $10,000.

Canopus sells a couple cards that can do this, though I don't know
how compatable they are with Vegas.
