Capture error message

I am unable to open Video XCapture xpress 4.0 withou an error message. This is the first day that this has occured after flawlessly "firewire" capturing for approx. 2 weeks with Pinnicle Edition DV 500 (4.5). The message reads, "warning - an error occurred during the current operation. The application does not suport this file type. Details - File STCCZQ could not be opened, File YH5EYZ could not be opened, File RW6MRW could not be opened." I have re-installed Vegas, the 1394 drivers.

Uninstall everything from Pinnacle and it'll work.

Thanks for the info. I also was able to sucessfully restore to an earlier date when the 2 programs go along. If the problem occurs again, I will consider uninstalling all of the Pinnacle products.

What causes this error? I just started using 4.0b and I am getting the same error (with 3 different cryptic file names) when I start capture within Vegas. I am not using Pinnacle.

If I start the capture program directly from the program directory it does not happen. If I ignore the error, capture does work. It is a nusance that I'd like to be rid of, though.

you remind me one thing, last month i installed prinnacle instant disc copy, the 2 cd roms are gone, i ended up doing a prinnacle uninstallation and fixed the problem.
