I'm using a Canon Optura 100 with Vegas on a capable XP machine. When I had Win 98, everything was perfect, but I have tried everything in my power to capture video using XP without any success.

I keep getting the errors:

1)
An error occured while capturing from the device.
The reason for the error could not be determined

No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection.

2)
The device 'Microsoft DV Camera and VCR' could not be opened.
Please make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user.


There is no other user or application using the camera, so I'm at a loss as to how to proceed.

Has anyone got a clue as to what the problem here could be?
