Capture from Beta; timecode?

I'm capturing from Betacam through an ADVC-100 into Vegas 4. Is there any way to grab the timecode off the beta and have Vegas resolve to it while it captures the footage? Can I drive the Vegas MTC input from an external SMPTE to MIDI converter, and will Vegas use that as the reference for the incoming video?

Not possible with the ADVC 100. If you have a DV deck like the Sony DSR1500a you could make a tc dub from the betacam and capture that, or you might consider a unit like the Promax DAMAX +, which does convert beta timecode to DV timecode. The Promax also converts 422 to DV device control, nice option.
