I dont know if this is the answer you are lookingfor, but I use the ATI Player to capture. The software should come with your card or you can download it fromthe ATI site.
thanks fosko
i want to capture a video using sonic foundry video cap, i try to capture it using ulead and it works ok with my ati card. while i m here, want to ask another question, i capture a video thru all-in-wonder using ulead studio, the video looks ok but right at the bottom of the video, there is a line with a little bit color going across the bottom of the video about 1/30 of the video. fosko, have u ever run into this by using ati player to capture?

The actual picture part of analog video doesn't quite fill the entire frame
that is transmitted. There are a few scanlines above and below the
image, as well as some space on both sides too, that are "outside" the
picture. Televisions usually allow this part of the frame to bleed off the
edges of the picture tube so you don't see them. This is also why there
is the "safe area" rectangle in the Text tool ... to help you make sure
that the text is in the visible part of the picture. Video capture cards, on
the other hand, usually encode the entire frame and include the edges.
I'm not a video expert, but i do seem to recall hearing that there is
sometimes extra information encoded in the video signal, and it is
placed in these outside scanlines where televisions won't show them.
This is probably the line of flashing colored dots you're seeing. I get
them with the ATI cards and the Hauppauge WinTV. I don't see them
when capturing with the Sony DVMC-DA2 however.
