Hi! My carera Sony VX 2000 which they said could work as capture card from my video, when I open my capture window in Vegas 4, I can see my clip for a second in preview, right after it turns as ready for capture video from camera tape not from any other sorce, any suggestion please? Thanks.

In the CAPTURE window, look at the "Menu" heading. There should be a listing for your DV device, and another for your analog capture, if Vegas found it. Just swith to the analog and you should see the video. I'm not sure with your cam if a switch needs to be changed for this pass-thru to work...
My Panasonic PV-DV601 does the same thing. I was never able to capture by passing through the analog video-in to the firewire port on my camera. It would work for a second and then stop, just like you’re describing. The next best thing would be to put a tape in the camera and record it to DV tape, then capture the tape. There will be no loss in quality doing it this way; it just takes twice as long.
If someone who actually owns the same camera and has done this says that it should work, then you should ask them how they did it. If someone just generically told you that if your camera has a video-in then you should be able to capture with it, then they are only partly right. Not all cameras with a video-in will pass that through to the firewire port in real-time for capture.
Hello Jason (jsteehl), thanks a lot, it worked, now I can capture, so Johnny Roy you can follow (Jsteehl's) instuction, it's very easy and simple.
Once agian thank you Jason.
Just wanted to report back that I tried it and it worked. Disabling the DV control was the trick. I can now capture analog through my DV camera. Thanks,
