What 1394 driver do you see?
Under Imaging devices, what DV driver do you see?

Driver: Texas Instruments IEEE3194 compatible OHCI
Imaging devices: do you mean the CODECS ? I only see my USB scanner in the image devices...

Try deleting the Texas Instruments driver and letting Windows detect hardware and add its own driver.

even with Win2K? I know XP's got lots of drivers under the belt but Win2K too?
And what's surprising is that everything was all right with VV3, it's since I installed V4 that it locks...

Yes, even in Win2K - Use the Microsoft drivers.
