Capture out of Sync

Audio and video get out of sync with longer DV captures (~30min). I have Vegas break up the capture into segments of 1GB because my Win2K doesn't open avi over 1.5GB. Video seems longer than audio in the last few segments.

I read through a bunch of related posts and everyone seems to feel this is normal and you should just stretch one or the other.

Is there anything I can do or should I just start stretching?

I'm using the Vegas Capturing software with my Pyro BasicDV. Recording to my only drive a 60GB 7200rpm which is half empty.

Umm.... 30 minutes is about 6.5Gig.

I routinely capture 1+ hours on my Win2K system. Why the 1.5 gig limit?

Having A/V sync problems with DV capture is NOT normal.

One thing you should change is to get a separate drive for your media files.

yes. get a monster drive like 100GB+ when video editing. I'm editing this one video and it's like 38GB. I have the DVCapture software to break up the files every 400MB. I really like it that way because it makes it so much easy to edit and is less demanding on your system then working with GB chunks of .AVI.

I wish Sony would get a better rendering engine. I want a rendering engine that utilizes all my resources. A rendering engine so powerful that it makes my lights flicker LOL.

Something's wrong on the 1.5G capture Groovedude. That's even less than on a FAT32 file system (4GB). I have a 1 hour and 45 minute capture sitting on my HD right now, DV with no loss of sync. Usually loss of sync is associated with analog capture or because you have dropped frames.
