capture out of sync

I had to capture some 8mm tape on to my computer. I used a PCI ATI capture card. the audio into the line-in input on the soundcard. I used Vegas to capture but the audio is out of sync. Is there a way to fix this by recapture settings, using another program to capture or to fix the video I have now.

Thanks for the Help

You should be able to slide the audio track (in Vegas) until you have sync again.

When you capture, you'll get better results by coming out of your 8mm deck or camera via SVHS and RCA cables to your digital camera, then from the digital camera to your computer via firewire.

I have an ATI 8500DV card and I find that there is a roughly 15 frame lag between audio and video when exporting audio via the ATI card and video via firewire, making it unusable for this purpose. I've never tried importing through the ATI card like you're doing, always using my camera or DV deck to convert from analog to digita instead.
