Capture problem

I am 40 mins through capturing some footage from a DVX100. (not my camera, wish it was)
I am watching the video through preview.

1) The sound is about 3 seconds later than the video.
2) There are occasional pops and clicks in the audio.

Are these things normal??

My soundcard is M Audio Delta 66, set to very low latency.

Thanks,

Kev

Previewing through firewire? How is the cam set up? Is it in 24p mode? Be sure it's not unless media is 24p. If so, then be sure Vegas is removing pulldown, this is found in Options>Preferences>General
Latency isn't a problem on playback only...I doubt it's related to that. Unless you've shifted your buffers around, and that *could* create an out-of-sync situation.

Thanks Spot.
I'm not sure what mode the camera is in. It's not mine and there are no instructions with it. It is set to F1 on the function wheel.

I finished capturing and on play back through Vegas, the video and audio are now in sync.

However, the audio now stutters (like a stuck CD) every couple of seconds or so. Basically everytime the HD light comes on for a moment. The HD is defragmented. I have a 3.06 processor with 2 gig of RAM. I use the PC for high end audio all the time. My graphics card is a Millenium G550.

Any thoughts on this stuttering. Highly irritating. The client is coming back into the studio next week. Would like to eliminate it for then. I'll buy whatever I have to buy (within reason)

Regards,

Kev

I can't remember the settings, someone else can chime in here. But I suspect your camera is in 24p mode.
