capture problem

Cannot capture with Vegas 8.0 from DV camera through firewire, it runs 10...15...or max 30min and then freezes.
I am using an older Canopus ADVC-1394, with Windows XP pro, with latest updates.
As well there is no image in the preview window in the ADVC-1394 controller software. Re-installed Windows from scratch, removed and re-installed capture card back in the PCI slot, changed the slot...
no luck....any ideas what can I try next., please ?

can't see your hd specs listed...

what are they?

try camera direct to pc?

I am using a P4 2.4GHz, ASUS P4PE, NVidia GeForce 6600, 1Gb RAM, 4x200Gb HDD, it is very interesting that in the past, didn't have any problems with the same configuration, with Vegas 6, 7...
(I haven't used capturing for about one year)
Canopus ADVC-1394 worked fine in the past, and looks that is working ok, I think that might be some driver issue, cannot figure it out...as I said there is no image in the preview window of ADVC controller software, but there is image and sound in Vegas 8.0 capture window, is that it freezes after short while (10..15...30min..)
didn't try direct to pc though....

Didn't find suggestions here, but I would like to write about the fix to this problem: what I had to do was to disable CA antivirus from starting up and disable cable network connection to internet....
Now capturing is working fine !
