Capture stutter problem sovled for me!

When I upgraded to Vegas 6, I would attempt to capture the same as in 5, but I encountered a problem everytime with 6 that 5 did not have. Whenever I would view the capture in real time while captureing, it would stutter, both audio and video. I could go back to 5 and capture without this issue. Yesterday I was capturing some video and thought that I would try 6 again and the same thing occured. I went to hit the start menu on XP and as soon as I hit it, the capture window was no longer selected and the delay was gone. I clicked the capture window again and made it the top window and it started stuttering again. I simply clicked on the taskbar for windows and it was fine again.
What do you think causes it to play fine as long as the window is not the selected window? I don't guess it really matters as long as it works, but I am curious now.

Preferences in Windows set for priority to "background applications," perhaps?

Are you running SP2 by any chance?
Local PC mag makes an interesting point about SP2, so much was changed by uStuff it probably should now be called XP SE.
