capture trails

my movie studio works great except for one issue. when i capture a video the preview has what i guess you would call trails. when a objects moves it creates a trail almost like a lsd tripp (lol).and the trails are on the finished product. at first i thought it might be a capture card issue but i also have dell movie studio that came with the card and it also does it.i also use mydvd to capture and it has the trails in the preview but the completed video is clean with no trails at all.i want to capture with movie studio because i get a higher quaility picture when the dvd is done being burned.does anyone have any idea why i get these trails through the whole video. its like a bad special efect, if a person moves his arm in the video the arm is followed by trails.the audio and video are in perfect sync. thank you for listening to my issue.

What are you capturing from, and how are you connecting it to your pc?

Jim, I'm sorry, but I've no experience of analog captures and I've never seen a problem like yours! There are others on this forum who do analog capture - maybe they can help?

EDIT:-

I just remembered something Al Dinelt wrote in this post:-
>WIth analog video, the frame order is upper or top field first.

Can't hurt to check!
