capture turning my one clip into 2 or 3

I am capturing using regular video capture as I have done in the past, and suddenly, it is creating 2 -3 clips for my one capture session! I can't pin it down as to the pattern, it doesn't matter what size the capture session is. Have I accidentally turned on some weird setting to make it do this?

scene detection probably - it throws a new file each time the DV timecode data isn't contiguous.

Yaaay! Thank you so much! I turned off the enable scene detection box in my preferences and it hasn't doen it since. Thank you so much!
