All Beta SP's that I've used have a Timecode out, which is seperate from the Video and Audio out, thus the Timecode isn't embedded in the video. There is a seperate Timecode track on Beta SP. You will have to run the timecode out of the beta SP into a Timecode in of your PC....usually any Midi interface that has a 1/4 inch "Sync in" will work.

I've sold products like this before. Unfortunately, the only way to successfully transfer timecode is using your BetaSP deck's RS422 protocol cable from the deck to the COM1 or COM2 port on the back of your machine. You also need an addenda converter. (RS422 to RS232. Your computer port on the back looks just like the betasp port, but it is actually a different protocol). A cable and converter should be well under $100.00 price tag. I do not know if Vegas Video supports the RS232 time code, but if it's close to Adobe Premiere in function/workflow, than it should. If it supports analoge timecode thru that RS232 port on your CPU, than just buy that cable with converter. I can recommend a few places if you like to buy this gear. (btw - I am a teacher now, no longer am with the reseller channels/distribution) Good luck!
