Capture Utility Doesn't Recognize Device

Everything was working great a few weeks ago and now VV3 capture utility can't find my camcorder or Sony media converter. Windows XP identifies the devices everytime just not VV3. Tried everything recommended ... rebooted, launched capture before turning on devices, turned on devices before launching capture. Need help because I have a project due by Monday.

P4, 1.4 Ghz, 384 meg RAM, 60 gig HD 7200 RPM, Windows XP and VV3

There's a bug where you'll get that kind of error if Capture can't find the last disk you used. e.g. a removeable disk or a directory that no longer exists.

Check the Prefs>Disk Management.
