Capture Utility improvment suggestion

Hello, I use the advanced tab of the video capture utility a lot and I found out that some minor things could be improved to optimize workflow.

I enter timecodes manually in the fields at the right and it's simpler for me if I use only the keyboard, if I want to enter "00:25:30;00", I will type 00253000 and then press the tab key. The problem is that when I hit the tab key to go to the Mark out field, it doesn't select it's content but places the cursor at the beginning of the field. If hitting tab key could select the whole field, it would be a great time saver for me as I wouldn't have to use the mouse at all.

It could also be nice if another hit of the tab key log/in/out the clip.

Other than that I can only say Vegas is the most useful program I have ever used, I can do almost all the multimedia tasks I need to do with a computer only with Vegas.

Thanks !

I agree that some additional keyboard shortcuts in VidCap would be useful. Post it to the "product suggestion" link. One I just posted there, and is appropriate to this thread (or would it be in the "wish list" thread?) would be the ability to print and/or export the *.sfvidcap log file (from the "Advanced Capture" tab. I've been using this fgeature to log two years worth of D8 tapes, and it's been 1)a great review of what I have on tape, 2)a permanent log of what I do have, and 3)excellent to be able to search the clips, although it would be nice to have multiple sort fields - hence if the data from the *.sfvidcap file were exportable either in ASCII, Lotus or Excel, those programs could perform the sort function. Besides, I like to review *data* information on paper, while I'm away from the PC monitor - sort of a head clearing method.

I agree with you - VV is a GREAT program, and a blast to use. I only just recently realized what a great AUDIO editor it is as well. This of course is coming from a former MGI VW3/4 user (I used to clear my head by banging it against the monitor, wall, whatever hard surface was nearby...)
