Capture VHS with Dazzle Box

Normally, I capture my dv tapes through the firewire port on my capture card and it works fine.
But, we have an urgent customer request to convert two VHS tapes to DVD by Monday (!)
My VCR does not have an S-video output, if it did, I could record to my dv camera and then capture, edit and burn.
But I have the Dazzle box from my old Videowave days (remember that? It used to work back then). So I plugged it into the capture card, connected the VCR, and when I tried to capture, the error message says "the Device "Dazzle Mojave' could not be opened.
The green light is on indicating the unit is connected and powered, but no joy,
Anybody??? I'm a bit desperate and I don't have time to go out and buy anything.

Are you using the Dazzle software to capture? SONY's VidCap program probably won't touch that box with a 10 metre pole.

Here's where I display my ignorance, Chienworks, I don't know. I tried to capture using Sony vidcap, no results as I said. I have a feeling the Dazzle software was removed when I erased VideoWave, would you suggest I reinstall that?

Well, I reloaded VideoWave and successfully captured a clip, rendered it to an .avi file. I can then do my work in Sony and burn to DVD. This will get me through this project, but I need a better way if anybody has a suggestion.
Thanks,
