capture window disappeared again!

went to capture hdv, and the windows done a runner (again). i sorted it out once by having it dock itself, but for some reason it's gone somewhere where i can't even find it?

anyone discovered a simple solution / work around (yes, i used hdv split!)?

i presume this has been raised enough to warrant a fix?

If you do some windows layouts and save it/them, it vanished.

Solution: recall the default layouts, change it to fit your desire and close v8pro and after that everything goes OK.

DO NOT save any personal layout.

This happened to me as well - might be a coincidence, but I noticed it after I entered the permanent licence key...

Anyway, I restarted VP8, BEFORE calling the capture window I changed the layout to Default, and only then opened the Capture window - it snapped properly to the docking area. Then I switched to my own layout, the Capture window still visible. Closed VP8, and on the next launch (with my own layout) the Capture window is OK.

getting pretty bloody annoyed - can't get it back at all now. i just entered my registration key as well, hoping it might do something, but no.

i think this is pretty bad - anyone have any other suggestions as to how to bring it to the front (i can see it behind the other windows, but closing, etc., doesn't reveal it...)?

hdv split's doing the job, but i mean, really....

ok - read some older posts - did a ctrl/shift start, called up hdv cap. docked, tried again - still there, so did my layout thing, and so far it's still showing up in the dock when called on.

what a palava....

I'm convinced that Windows has messed up everything on Vegas. I had purposely not connected my computer to the internet for the past year. Finally, I had no choice. I selectively updated some items and everything is messed up now. I can't revert back at all. Tried all sorts of things. My camcorder is no longer even recognized on my PC so the capture video function keeps saying device not available. I am tired of dealing with this problem.
