captured video is dark

i'm using vf 2.0 to capture from my sony mini-dv camcorder. when the video plays on the camera lcd, it looks great. my problem is the captured video is dark. any ideas why?

If you captured through a firewire card from your DV cam, then nothing has changed. The capture through firewire is a data transfer, meaning the video is transferred bit by bit to a computer file.

The best test is to ouput the captured video to your camera and compare the original and the captured on the same monitor or TV.

I know on my Digital 8 camera, the LCD is not accurate for exposure. It is only close.
