capturing 16:9

How do I capture 16:9? Will Vegas automatically do this? Cna it do this?

Capturing 16:9 is done in the camera. You would need to record to that standard and then drop it on the Vegas timeline (where it should be recognized as such).

Vegas will capture, IE take your film from your camera to your HD, in the same format as you recorded it. No changes will be made. So what ever format you shot Vegas will capture. If you want to change the format such as converting HDV >SD, 16:9>4:3, or 1080i to 24p you do that in Vegas AFTER you have captured your footage.

As said Vegas will capture 16:9 or 4:3 footage perfectly however it may fail to recognise the 16:9 flag. No problem, just RClick the media to tell Vegas it is 16:9.
