Hey Brian -
I, too, look every day, twice or three times a day, for an update. I
think it's coming at the end of September. I'm sure they're trying to
make sure nothing new gets broken in this update like last time. In
the mean time, have you tried changing the option to not draw
waveforms while recording and then letting it build peaks when you're
finished? That might help for now...

In the video preview window there is a button to copy a frame to the
clipboard. You can then paste it into a graphics program such as
Paint and save as a .jpg or .gif or .bmp or whatever.

I would hardly call anything made by Stankberg a "Pro" Piece of gear.
Nuendo looked a lot like Protools to me. And if it's user interface
is anything close to Cubase VST along with it's resource hogginess
then it's a tool I can live without. Why would I purcase a tool that
works great, but I could never learn to use it. Logic audio platinum
is another example of that scenario. With that all said, it's really
not the software that makes it a "Pro" piece of gear, it's the "Pro"
being able to utilize it to it's full potential.

Now be nice =) Logic Audio is an extremely powerful MIDI editor, and
if you can't take the learning curve I honestly don't understand how
you can use any software at all. It's not that hard to grasp, and
once you get the hang of it there really is no other software that
can compete with it.
This is probably why Steinberg has given up on developing their MIDI
sequencing power and focus their attention on developing audio
features, driver models, Nuendo, VST instruments blah blah blah...
Yet again an example of marketing loudmouths getting in the way of
the developers' intentions.
That's what I like about companies like Emagic and Sonic Foundry,
their software never evolve beyond its purpose. And you may quote me
on that.

Sonic Foundry's software never evolved past it's purpose, for years
Sound Forge Users have been screaming for a multitrack editor and
finally Vegas Pro was developed, now the update to Vegas Pro has video
editing abilities? Who asked for that? We just all wanted a solid
piece of software which could do multitrack recording, editing and
mixing, we still haven't fully reached that, but now we've got video
editing which introduces a whole new line of bugs. So I guess I don't
understand your statement that SF software has never evolved past it's
intended purpose.....that's the most hipocritical statement I've ever
read in this forum.

vegas was never good at drwing waveforms accurately, so even when it
did draw the waves, in actuality it did no good...
when zoomed out to even a reasonable level, the waveforms were in the
wrong space by sometimes quite a few miliseconds....only solution I
have had is after recording, to delete all the *.sfk files
the not drawing waveforms IS silly though...and I would have expected
it fixed by now
there are some nastier problems however in my opinion
well, actually, the draw waveform thing was fixed for 2.0, got broken
in 2.0a and was definitely funky in 1.0a and b.
I'm anxiously awaiting an update too but I also want to make sure it
does more good than harm. So, I'd rather wait the time it takes!
