Capturing bad lines

When I capture clips from my camcorder with ATI DV Wonder Firewire card part of the last bottom line (maybe 2) are low quality, blurred like a poor quality JPG and with a black border (again only part of the line).
Can anybody please help me to understand why ? It's the camcorder (I don't see faulty lines in the LCD), the Ati card, the cable or the software (VV3 and P6 capture both with bad line)?

it's probably the camera. stuff that close to the edge isn't seen on a tv so the camcorder manufacturers don't worry too much about it.

You're right, I can't see it on tv. But if it's the camera do I have to consider it a fault? I just entered DV world with my brand new Canon MVX1i (european Optura 100) and I'm already struggling with the hissing noise of driving mechanics recorded by the ccamera mic.
They told me that Canon cameras were very good, but I'm seriously considering to switch to someting better like Panasonic MX300.
