Capturing from Computer to GL2 Camcorder

Hi:

I'm pretty new to vegas and digital camcorders. I would like to know how to record the images from my computer to a canon GL2 camcorder.

What I would like to do is create video lessons of certain programs run on my computer. I would like to connect the camcorder to the computer and start recording from the computer to the camcorder. Please guide me through this process.

I've been searching for this topic, but I couldn't find an answer to this question.

Thanks

German

Not exactly what you expect, but not sure if you can do exactly what you want.

Search for Camtasia on this forum. You need to capture what you are doing on the computer, then create a video/dvd.

I agree with fldave, Camtasia works great, been using it for years. Create a video file with Camtaisia, then print-to-tape out of vegas.

To do *exactly* what you want, you’ll need a device like the Canopus TwinPact100. It will capture everything you do on your computer (including booting up and Bios menus, etc.) to your camera or any other video recording device you hook up to its analog or firewire outputs (including DV back into your computer and capture in Vegas). The quality is good but not as good as Camtasia will give.

If you want high quality screen captures, then do as the others recommend. Get Camtasia, capture to AVI, edit in Vegas, and export back to your camera if you need the final output on DV tape. Otherwise forget about the GL2 all together and do the whole thing on the PC with Camtasia and Vegas.
