Capturing help PLEASE! <please read>

Hi,
Using Vegas Video 3.0c (latest updates installed) and a JVC GRDVP3:

I am trying to capture video (or tape), the playing starts, audio is playing etc. But the computer isn't recording anything!
Movie Maker (included in windows doesn't have any problems recording, but Vegas...nothing).

Please help (I do not want to have to dump my money in the dustbin) :(

Not very much information to go on here.
Does Windows see your 1394 connection? Does Vegas see it? Where do you see the video playing/hear the sound - on your source or in Vegas? Has it worked before? Have you read the capture faq on Sonic Foundry's site?
