I asked for suggestions in the Sony Vegas Studio subforum, didn't get much of a resolution there. I have since upgraded to Pro and am still experiencing the same issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

"I am having problems with the video I am capturing...on my desktop I have no issues with seeing these green blobs, but I just bought a laptop with equal (actually better) specs. Please see pictures.

"I have uploaded a small clip of the distorted picture, no green blobs in this specific clip but they do show up on the same video clip, just edited down a bit, but you can see the distorted picture to better give you an idea, i hope.

a. do you see this when you play back in camera?

b. are you using used tapes?

A. No, picture is clear on camera and when capturing on desktop, only becomes distorted when I capture on the laptop (as mentioned above, laptop has better specs then desktop, only desktop is using vista, laptop is windows 7).

B. Yes I am using tapes, but as mentioned above, picture is clear until I capture on the laptop.

what size / speed drive have you got in the laptop?

i would suspect it's either too slow a drive, or near full.... have you tried capturing to an external hd?

i would never attempt to capture to a system drive on any computer....

Speed is not an issue, as mentioned in the original post this laptop has better specs then the desktop that does not have an issue when capturing...the HD is more then free of space, more so then the desktop but I also capture to the external 1TB drive so that's not a problem either.
