Capturing issues

I have 2 video cameras, one is a Sony DCR-HC NTSC (this is DV) and the other is a SONY DCR-TRV330 (this is a Digital 8). The issue I am having is when using the Sony Vegas capturing the DV camera captures fine but the Digital 8 captured media plays back slow and is pixilated (if thats a word). When capturing it is fine on the screen, it is just when I play it back. Very fustrating to say the least. I can capture fine with the Digital 8 in my old Arcsoft Showbiz software so this is how I am doing it now. Does any body know how to solve this issue?

How does the Digital 8 footage look after it's been rendered? For example, if you drop a clip on the timeline, select a short piece of it, and hit Shift+M to pre-render the video. Is playback of the pre-rendered portion still slow and pixelated?

What you describe is an intermittent problem in capture that Sony cannot seem to replicate so they can't fix it. Did you try to capture more than once? If not give it another try.

I did try it several times last night and it was intermittent. It appeared that the shorter capturing sessions did not have the issue. I have tried again today and I can not get it to happen again. As I deleted all the bad clips last night I can not try to render to see how they look after rendering as per scissorfighters suggestion. I will try next time I get a bad clip.

The thing that sucks with this is I can not trust capturing long sessions of tape as it may be a waste of time and I do not find out until after I am done capturing. I lost a lot of time last night messing with this. If it continues to happen I guess I will continue to use showbiz for capturing.
