Capturing Mpeg2

How can you capture mpeg2 video. I have the new JVC JYHD10 I can't get it to capture

I don't believe Vegas captures Mpeg. I could very well be wrong! There is a Multimedia Format for capturing. There are diferent flavours of PAL and NTSC too. It will Format a finished AVI to MPEG . . just looked for mpeg in the Capture Help file .. don't see it anywhere . . . You think it captures MPEG? Where do you get this from? I want to know?

You can not capture this with Vegas alone. You need to either use the included (with the camera) software or you can buy the cineform Vegas plug-in. You can also, I beleve, use the stand alone Main Concept Mpeg encoder - the newest version. It has an option for D-VHS so chances are you could use the same setting. There are also some little freeware programs out there that you can use - one of them is simply a plug-in that allows you to use graph edit to capture the material.
