Once upon a time several years ago I was able to capture off my friends Canon GL1 by simply plugging into the firewire port while running Vegas (at that point it was Vegas 5). At one point it suddenly quit working. One of my other friends had the same problem using a different camera at the same time. We were never able to capture using the firewire port since that time. I read somewhere on the web that one of the XP upgrades made it no longer possible to do this. Does anybody know anything about this, or how in the world I could capture footage from a GL1?

I've tried different computers and different versions of Vegas--nothing seems to work. I don't have another GL1 to test if that's the issue, but the camera otherwise seems to be working fine, and my friend is able to capture into his standalone DVD recorder using the RGB outs.
Help...
