Capturing question....

Hey there guys, this is a realy dumb question, but I've gotta ask it.

Can Sony Vegas 8 capture clips from aHVX-200's P2 Card. I'm sure that the P2 cards are universal, but I'm not too experienced with HD video what so ever. I'm asking this becasue in my cinematography class I have to option of editing at school or outside of it...and I'll be damned if I ever edit with Avid again :)

Thanks for the help guys!

kstoner,

Capturing should simply be a matter of copying the clips via a USB connection (if I recall correctly).

The problem you will have with P2 and Vegas is that Vegas can't read the P2 MXFclips directly. To use them in Vegas you will either need to convert to an alternate format or get the Raylight plugin for Vegas.

Ciao,

Thanks for the speedy reply! Does the Raylight plugin cost anything?

Ouch....Anyone know of a sturdy (preferably free) converter out there?
