Capturing VHS to VV3

I just installed a Canopus ADVC-50 in my computer (it's a card) and successfully captured 8 VHS clips into VV3. Then, of a sudden, it stopped capturing. The VHS video would play on the capture screen, but no audio and yes, I checked all the connections, video and audio. And I have hours left on my capturing drive. Whenever I clicked on the "Capture tape" button, it went through its thing, but nothing recorded on the clip. Got zeroes all the way. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions about what I can do to get it back on track? TIA

Burt the only suggestions I can make is to thouroughly check all the connections - both inside and outside the computer. If that doesn't help, I would try shutting the computer down, and rebooting. A final thing you might try is to hit the "Reconnect to Current Device" in the File Capture, Otptions menu.

Thank you for the suggestions but I have done all that. Sorry I didn't include it in my original post.

I searched the VV3 database and found that both the ADVC 50 and 100 seem to have a heat problem, i.e., the card just overheated. I shut down my computer for 15-minutes and, sure enough, when I started it up it worked OK. This after I had done a quick re-boot and it didn't work. So.....Canopus definitely has a problem here. I will e-mail Canopus with this information and post what they say here when I get it.
Thanks to all who responded.
