Capturing video in Vegas 4.0 – video and audio formats

During capturing video from DV camcorder (using SF Video Capture 4.0), clips are captured in different formats:
- audio is captured sometimes in 48 kHz, and sometimes in 32 kHz,
- video is captured once as interlaced (lower field firs), and once as progressive scan
while they all were recorded with in the same format: 48 kHz and interlaced.
How can I make SF Video Capture 4.0 to record in right format?
(I have got the newest update to Vegas 4.0).

Are you capturing from a digital cam through firewire directly to VidCap? if so, it is a STRAIGHT copy of the original material...ie. there is no conversion/compression etc...just copy....

That’s what I thought, but... after batch capturing 2 clips from the same tape (it was recorded during one session), the first clip was 32 kHz / progressive, and the second one 48 kHz / interlaced. This is what that you can see in Media Pool in Vegas 4.0 in properties information of the clips.

Well, it's basically a bug. I've had the same problem. Not a big deal for me actually but just a bit annoying.... should be addressed though.
