Capturing with--another brand

I'm thinking of going to Scenalyzer Live due to the results of my long-winded and slightly annoying post yesterday about EDLs, since the VidCap function, I'm told, will yield an avi timecode that can't be read properly when other NLEs try to open the EDL file (which means you can't hand off a portable hard drive to another editor--the EDL can only permit an Avid, etc. editor to recapture from the original tapes). If I try Scenalyzer for that reason, I'm just wondering if anyone's had experience with any apparent bugs or notable shortcomings of Scenalyzer?

It's a great app, designed for capture only. And it's cheap.
I don't know if it has accessible T/C or not, but I believe it does. No real drawbacks...that I'm aware of. I've not used Scenelyzer for a year or so though. It used to have problems with Type 1 avi, and didn't work at all with the Matrox cards. Their timelapse used to be pretty cool.
Unless they've updated, there's no QT/OMF for Avid....
