Cash Cab - how do they do that?

Does anyone know how they light the inside of the cab on the night version of Cash Cab? Not the flashing lights, but the lighting for the video. They claim the following: "Unassuming people enter the "Cash Cab" as simple passengers taking a normal taxi ride, only to be shocked when they discover that they’re instant contestants on Discovery Channel's innovative game show!" How can that be? Surely they noticed the special lighting, and video cameras? The lighting and color look pretty good. Maybe it's just the type of cameras they use and some great post work?

I don't know about the lighting, but if they are unsuspecting, how do they get the camera shots outside of the cab of them getting into the cab?

There used to be a video on Discovery.com where Ben shows how the cab is rigged with all the technology. I can't seem to find it again. They are using "lipstick" cameras and flourescent lighting. The rack of recorders is behind the seat in the back of the cab. There is also a chase vehicle feeding him questions.

Do u have a specific question related to your next production or is it out of curiosity? There are tons of ways to light inside of a car, though in this specific example they are doing it with some find of soft practical-like light above the divider. For your production u can use 4' long kino bulb and some LitePanels mounted to th seats to give the actors some fill.

Gee, doesn't it really bother you to see the credits on these so-called "reality" shows listing a dozen writers? Maybe they should change the moniker to "scripted reality."

Don't know how they light it, but I do know it's all fake, just like any other "reality" show.
