CAVS Fanatic! - Select Event in SHutPro?

Grazie wrote on 2/19/2003, 8:25 AM
Just got and installed the Contour Shuttle Pro [CSP]- BRILLIANT! The Jog mechanism is 20x and is really slippy along the TL!

How can I Select an event in CSP?

Grazie

The Vegas 3 ShuttlePRO profile selects events using buttons 6 and 8. If no events are selected, it will select the event under the cursor, on the focus track. If an event is selected, it walks the event edges so that you can edit them with the jog dial. Press button 7 to exit event edge edge mode.

Thanks SC - Oh, I've loaded up the V4 CAV profile - got this from the SoFo site - yeah? Are you saying CAV VV3 has more functionality? Hmmm...

Perplexed, :-()

Mine won't go faster than 4x. How'd you do 20x?

Hi TT! - If you are using V4 - I've got VV3, but haven't check this out - If you've got V4 go:

Tools>Preferences>Editing>JKL/shuttle speed .... and then select "Fast" from the drop down menu - click on "APPLY" and close. That's it! Couldn't be simpler. Have fun. It really ssskatess along the Timeline. The Audio doesn't keep up after 4x - but I can live with this until SoFo comes up with an audio fix - no worries.

Cheers

Grazie:

Muting the audio past 4x was by design. We didn't want to get everyone's dogs upset with us.

BTW: In the same control panel...

The "Quick fade length for audio events" only goes down to 1ms. The help file says to switch it to zero to bypass fades, but mine won't accept a zero.

What's up with that?

The manual is wrong - unless you are talking about the fade time for video events, as this can be set to 0.

In Vegas 3, go to the options menu and choose 'Preferences...>Editing' and uncheck the box next to 'Fade edit edges of audio events'.

In Vegas 4, go the the options menu and deselect 'Quickfade Audio Edits'.
Better still, customize your toolbar and add a button to toggle quickfades on/off.
