Cayman Graphics Power CG Plus Vs. Red??

Does anyone have experience with Cayman Graphics Power CG Plus in that you could say it is more/less powerful than Boris Red 3GL for titling purposes only?

Red certainly seems to do it all, but it is a pain to get good with it. I've done "ok." Unfortunately (or fortunately), I have a day job. :)

Regarding just pure potential for titling only, which would you say has more potential? Red or Power CG Plus?

Thanks for any input you can offer!

Although I haven't actually USED Power CG Plus, I'd guess that Red has the most "potenital." However, for great CG fast and easy, that may be a different story, since RED doesn't directly "plug in."

CG Plus is easier to use than Boris Red, works as a plug-in in Vegas. I may biased because I have been using CG Plus for past 5 years. I think it's great titling app.

One other thing of note. Power CG generates bitmapped characters while Red/Grafiti use vector based characters. I suppose this is not a huge deal unless you want to zoom in on the characters. Still in my experience vector graphics tend to look a little cleaner.

Power CG uses 256 levels of antialiasing. That is one of the reasons why the output looks "professional."

Boris RED (or AE, C*, LW) etc. packages can create elaborate flying titles that can have their place, but for regular text with the effects in Power CG, you can't beat a serious broadcast titler (such as Power CG and some others that cost vastly more) for oozing quality.

AND the Cayman Graphics support has been fast, personal, and courteous while I sorted out an upgrade issue. Darryl
