CD Architect Technology - But One Feature Missing!!!

Dear VV3 users:

When I had CD Architect before, I used an excellent feature it had: the "Use Regions" checkbox when importing a file.

I had a 30 minute .WAV file, and it had 6 regions in it. When I opened Architect, I selected the Use Regions checkbox, and it AUTOMATICALLY assigned the tracks to it based on the regions!!!!

Well, if you do that with VV3, it doesn't WORK! Crap! Can anyone help!?!?!

Thanks

I agree. Here's what I'd like to see: Right click on a file in the trimmer and select: add regions as CD Tracks in timeline. And, from the explorer, Add Regions AS CD Tracks.

Here's a temporary workaround:
add the file to the trimmer. You should see your regions. Place the cursor at the top of the project (timeline). Double click in each region in the trimmer in succession and press "A" to add it to the timeline sequentially. They should be added exactly as they are in the trimmer, as separate events. Now double click on each event and hit "n" to add a cd track to each event. This gets you the same result. The only thing is, if you want space between the tracks, you gotta do it manually or place different files in the media pool and select Add As CD TRacks from the right-click menu and select the default track time in the Editing Prefs page of Vegas.

hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your help! I really appreciate it.

Now, let's tell Sonic Foundry to put that damn "Use Regions" checkbox into VV3 - this feature is very important.

I mean, can you imagine hitting that damn "N" key all the time - like what if I have 15 regions (for 15 tracks) ???

Thanks

hey, I do it all the time. You can get pretty quick at the: double click on event, n, double click, n, etc. But, yes, I suspect it will be in the next version.
